pull the panel below the steering column (4x10mm). pull the side vent cover. push the pin in the side vent and pull the side vent out through the opening. unscrew the phillips head screw holding the large vent in place under the steering column. detach the sensor that is located inside the vent at the electrical plug. attached to the heater core will be a black box: the auto amplifier, with 4 electrical plugs(16 pin, 20 pin, 12pin, 16 large pins) going into the top of the box. there are two screws holding the bottom bracket and the top has one bolt. the top screw just needs to be loosened i believe (and is very difficult to get to), as it just has a u shaped slot, as opposed to the holes in the bottom bracket. your miles may vary upon removal, like you may have to unbolt the foot vent as well, etc.
